Description

The Dark Hedges is a magical avenue of beech trees, forming a natural tunnel along the Bregagh road in Northern Ireland. Planted in the 18th century by James Stuart, the trees were intended as an impressive approach to his Gracehill House estate.

The site gained international fame through the TV series Game of Thrones, where it appeared as the famous 'King's Road.' According to local legend, the alley is haunted by the ghost of the Gray Lady - possibly Stuart's daughter or a servant girl who died under mysterious circumstances.

The best time for artistic photos is early morning or late afternoon, when the light creates a mysterious mood.
