The Blue Cave

The Blue Grotto is a stunning sea cave on the island of Capri, famous for its amazing light phenomenon.

A unique lighting system creates a mesmerizing blue glow as the sun's rays fall through underwater openings. The red light is filtered out by the water, leaving only the blue light, which illuminates the cave's interior.

In ancient times, the grotto served as a private pool for Emperor Tiberius and was decorated with statues of sea deities. Some of these sculptures can be seen today in the Casa Rossa museum in Anacapri.
