Description
The Caracalla Thermal Baths is one of the best preserved ancient thermal complexes in Rome, built in the 3rd century AD during the reign of Emperor Caracalla.
This monumental facility was the second largest thermal complex in Rome and served as a public bath for the citizens.
As you tour the site, you can admire the preserved walls, fragments of the original floor mosaics and extensive underground tunnels and chambers that were once used to heat water. A modern water system was installed here in 2024, allowing visitors to experience the original function of the site.
