Village Museum

The Village Museum is a unique open-air museum where the history of Tanzania comes alive in authentic huts representing over 45 traditional dwellings from 120 ethnic groups.

Instead of exhibits behind glass, here you can touch, enter, and experience real architecture—from rectangular Thembe to coastal Banda. Afternoon folk dance performances allow you not only to watch but also to participate in cultural rituals, while demonstrations of traditional crafts reveal skills passed down through generations.
