PR9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde is a scenic hiking trail in the north of Madeira, offering an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.
The 13-kilometer (round trip) route follows an irrigation canal through lush forests, four mysterious tunnels carved into the rocks, and bridges with breathtaking views of the São Jorge Valley.
The hike culminates with the spectacular 100-meter Caldeirão Verde (Green Cauldron) waterfall falling into a natural pool surrounded by emerald vegetation. The moderate level of difficulty makes the trail accessible to most hikers.
