PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes

PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes is one of the most popular trekking trails in Madeira. This scenic 11-kilometer trail leads through a lush laurel forest to the spectacular 25 Fontes waterfall and the impressive Risco waterfall.

During the 3-4 hour hike of moderate difficulty, you'll discover the unique water channels (levadas) that have been distributing water around the island for centuries.

The stone bridge over the riverbed, dense vegetation and moss create a poetic atmosphere that will delight any nature and photography lover. It is best to set out early in the morning to avoid the crowds and fully enjoy the tranquility of this magical place.
