Description
Chemin de halage is a historic path carved into the rock along the banks of the Lot River in France.
Approximately 8 kilometers long, this charming trail offers breathtaking views of the river and surrounding rock formations. The path was created in 1845 to tow boats with goods up the river.
During the 2.5-hour walk, you can admire Daniel Mounier's unique sculptures carved into the rock and reach the picturesque village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie with its 13 historic monuments. Wearing comfortable trekking shoes is recommended.
