The Holy Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram) is the most important place of worship for Muslims around the world.

It is here that the Kaaba - a black cube covered with black cloth - is located, towards which Muslims turn during daily prayers.

The mosque can accommodate more than 2 million worshippers at a time, making it the largest place of prayer in the world. For followers of Islam, the pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj) is one of the five pillars of faith and a religious duty that every Muslim should fulfill at least once in his or her lifetime.
