Description
Südliche Fröttmaninger Heide is a charming nature reserve located on the northern outskirts of Munich. This 150-hectare area of heathland impresses with its diversity of flora and fauna, being home to endangered species of butterflies, toads and orchids.
The area was formerly used as a Bundeswehr tank range, which adds to the site's historic character. Well-marked trails of moderate difficulty allow for about 2-hour hikes along the 12.9-kilometer route.
This is an ideal place for nature lovers, walkers and families. You can enjoy Nordic walking, jogging or biking. Dog owners will also find a friendly space here - however, pets must be led on a leash.
