Description
Stevns Klint is a spectacular 17-kilometer-long limestone cliff on the Baltic coast of Denmark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique site documents a dramatic moment in Earth's history - the meteorite impact that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs 66 million years ago.
As you hike the scenic trails along the cliff, you'll discover fascinating rock layers that tell the story of the catastrophe and the rebirth of life on Earth. You can also enjoy panoramic views from the historic 1878 lighthouse.
History buffs will also be interested in the nearby Cold War Museum, which adds another dimension to this remarkable journey through time.

Kevin Bourne3 months agoEnjoyable little stop. There's the UNESCO site with a couple small churches and a stairway down to the beach (closed when we visited in March), where you can see the cliffs. A couple minutes up the coast is the lighthouse along with free parking and a bathroom. You can't see the cliffs from there but they have free binoculars to see around the area.

Martin Fröjdin the last weekA smaller alternative to Møns Klint. A nice view with an old church balancing on the edge. Warning very steep stairs down to the beach, every step it felt like you were going to fall. Nice to see the geological history up close.Related categories
