Main Parade Lawn

Main Parade Lawn is a historic 4-acre green space in the heart of the Presidio that has undergone a fascinating transformation—from a military drill ground in 1898, to an asphalt parking lot where generations of residents learned to drive, to today's lawn.

This place combines its military past with its contemporary character—festivals, concerts, Presidio Picnic, and Kite Expo are organized here. You can play ball, read books, have a picnic, or just relax on the grass.
