Rex, the Beach Blvd Dinosaur

Rex the Beach Boulevard Dinosaur is a 20-foot orange concrete T-Rex with glowing red eyes that has stood on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville since the 1960s.

Originally, Rex was an advertisement for the Goony Golf mini-golf chain, which had over 35 locations nationwide. When the golf course closed, a local company decided to preserve this friendly giant instead of demolishing it. In 2007, the dinosaur underwent a renovation, receiving a fresh coat of bright orange paint and regaining its former glory. Today, Rex is not just a roadside curiosity, but a true symbol of Jacksonville and a beloved landmark for residents.
