Description
Kingsley Plantation is Florida's oldest surviving plantation, dating back to 1797-1798, offering a fascinating journey through the complex history of slavery and freedom.
The main Spanish colonial-style house and 23 original slave cabins made of oyster shells form a unique architectural complex. Particularly intriguing is the story of Anna Madgigine Jai, a former slave who became the owner's wife and a free landowner.
The picturesque location on the Fort George River combines historical education with nature observation.
