Description
Elephant Butte Lake State Park is the largest body of water in New Mexico, spanning 40,000 acres with more than 200 miles of shoreline. It's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts!
The park offers excellent fishing (famous for its record-breaking perch), sailing, kayaking and swimming on its sandy beaches. History buffs will appreciate the historic Damsite Recreation Area with its charming 1911 Dam Site Lodge.
Interesting fact: dinosaur fossils have been discovered in the rock formations, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
