Stairs Passage

Pasajul Scărilor is a fascinating medieval passage in the heart of Sibiu, connecting the Upper and Lower Towns. This 14th-century monument, also known as the 'Wall with Needles,' is part of the third belt of fortifications that protected the medieval city.

The stone and brick walkway is surrounded by historic houses from the 15th and 16th centuries. The defensive wall of the Upper City, rising to a height of about 10 meters, is supported by solid buttresses resting on arches.
