Description
St Cyriac's Church is an exceptional monument of Norman architecture in the picturesque village of Lacock.
Dating back to the 11th century, the church impresses with its combination of Norman, Gothic and Perpendicular styles. Its remarkable features include the 15th century Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary with its unique vaulted ceiling and traces of medieval paintings.
Of note is the ornate tomb of Sir William Sharington, builder of Lacock Abbey. The church has strong links to local history and the Awdry, Baynard and Talbot families.
