Description
St Abb's Head is a spectacular nature reserve with cliffs reaching 90 meters high. The site impresses with its biodiversity - it is home to a colony of 60,000 seabirds, including nurzyk, fulmars and masconurs.
The history of the site dates back to the 7th century, when the Northumbrian princess Ebba founded a monastery here. Today you can admire the remains of the monastery and the lighthouse.
Walking along marked trails, you'll discover not only breathtaking views, but also the artificial lake Mire Loch, home to swans, ducks and dragonflies. Rich vegetation includes sea cloves, wild thyme and milkweed.
