Description
The Spreewald Biosphere Reserve is a unique place located about 100 km southeast of Berlin. A fascinating network of rivers and channels formed during the last ice age creates a picturesque landscape of meadows, fields and forests.
It's a nature lover's paradise with some 5,000 species of plants and animals, including rare specimens like the fire-bellied toad and bald eagle. The reserve is also famous for its rich cultural heritage and Sorbian traditions.
Take a traditional Kahn boat ride, explore the Gurken bike trail or explore hiking trails among the natural forests. Discover a place that was listed as a UNESCO site in 1991.
