Description
Valencia City Hall is an impressive neo-Renaissance building that is the heart of city life. It combines elements of 18th-century architecture with early 20th-century extensions, creating a fascinating mix of styles.
Inside, you can admire the marble staircase, the richly decorated Plenary Hall, and the elegant Hall of Mirrors inspired by Versailles. The City History Museum displays valuable exhibits, including the sword of King Jaime I and a map of the city from 1704.
The building has witnessed a turbulent history, serving as a shelter during the Spanish Civil War and hosting the Republican Cortes in 1936-1937.
