Description
Faro de Fisterra is a 19th-century lighthouse dating back to 1853, standing on the dramatic cliffs of Costa da Morte, 138 meters above sea level.
It is a symbolic place, once considered the 'end of the world' (Finis Terrae), where, according to legend, the sun plunged into a sea full of monsters. The octagonal granite tower, designed by engineer Félix Uhagón, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic. Next to it stands the legendary 'Vaca de Fisterra' building - a foghorn from 1889, whose sounds warned ships.
