Iharra Frontoia (Deustuko Pilotalekua) is the modern-day San Mamés Stadium—Bilbao’s “cathedral of soccer”—which blends Basque tradition with avant-garde architecture. Its façade, featuring 2,500 vertical sails and 42,500 LEDs, lights up in red and white during matches.

The interior impresses with steep stands close to the field, and the three-level Athletic Bilbao museum offers interactive exhibits featuring trophies and multimedia displays of the best goals. The first stadium in the world to receive LEED certification for sustainable construction.
