Itsasmuseum Bilbao

Itsasmuseum Bilbao is a modern maritime museum located on the site of the former Euskalduna shipyard, where the history of Basque seafaring comes to life through authentic ships and interactive exhibits.

Spanning 27,000 square meters, the museum features historic vessels open to visitors, including a replica of a 17th-century galley and the 60-meter-long red crane “Carola” from 1957. Exhibits include ship models, navigational instruments, stories about pirates and the daily lives of Basque sailors, as well as fascinating audiovisual installations showing Bilbao’s transformation from an industrial port into a cultural metropolis.
