Description
Puerta del Sol is a historic square in the heart of Madrid, full of life and culture.
It's here that you'll find the famous zero point, from which all roads in Spain are measured, and the iconic statue of a bear with a madroño tree - a symbol of the city.
The clock tower on the Casa de Correos building rings out the famous New Year's Eve bells, during which Spaniards traditionally eat 12 grapes for good luck. The area is also home to La Mallorquina, one of Madrid's most famous pastry shops, known for its delicious napolitanas.
