Description
The Kybele Fountain is an iconic symbol of Madrid that impresses with its neoclassical beauty. This majestic sculpture depicts the goddess Kybele on a chariot pulled by two lions - Atalanta and Hippomenes.
Made of white marble, the fountain was designed by Ventura Rodríguez in 1780, commissioned by King Charles III.
It is not only a historical monument, but also a place of joyful celebration - it is here that Real Madrid fans celebrate their team's victories by decorating the statue with club colors. In the evening, when the fountain is illuminated, it gains an extra magical dimension.
