Description
Dona Marinera is an imposing bronze sculpture, also known as the 'Fisherman's Wife,' towering over the bay of Lloret de Mar. Created by Ernesto Maragall in 1966, this 2.4-meter-tall statue symbolizes women awaiting the return of their husbands from expeditions across the Atlantic.
The statue's location offers a breathtaking view of the Costa Brava coastline. According to local legend, touching the statue's right foot while looking at the horizon makes wishes come true.
The statue is an important part of the region's cultural heritage and is part of the scenic Camino de Ronda route.
