Description
Conjunto histórico de Santillana del Mar is a perfectly preserved medieval town, known as the 'timeless town'. Cobbled streets lead through a maze of 14th-18th century buildings with flower-filled balconies and family crests.
The heart of the complex is the 11th-century Romanesque collegiate church with the relics of Saint Juliana. It is worth discovering the Torre de Don Borja, a defensive tower with a Renaissance courtyard, or the palaces around the Plaza Mayor. Nearby is a replica of the Altamira cave with prehistoric paintings of bison.
