South coast path

South coast path is an impressive 630-mile route along the English coast, from Somerset to Dorset. The route passes spectacular cliffs, hidden coves and beaches full of fossils, including the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The trail offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and opportunities to observe abundant wildlife - from seabirds to dolphins and seals.

Originally created by the Coast Guard to monitor smugglers, today it is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. Visit viewpoints like Thorncombe Beacon, which was part of a network of lighthouses that warned of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
