Greenmarket Square

Greenmarket Square is a historic market in the heart of Cape Town, existing since 1696. It is a vibrant place where history meets the present.

In the square, surrounded by historic Art Deco buildings, you'll find colorful stalls selling handicrafts, jewelry, souvenirs and African art. Walking between the stalls, you'll hear the sounds of street performances and feel the authentic atmosphere of South African culture.

During apartheid, the square was the site of protests; today it symbolizes a new era and is a center of commerce and culture.
