Description
The Bled Lake is a picturesque glacial lake surrounded by the majestic Julian Alps. It is famous for its charming island, which can be reached by traditional wooden pletna boats, used since the 16th century.
On the northern shore rises the medieval Bled Castle, dating back to 1004, offering breathtaking views. The site has a rich history dating back to the Bronze Age, when it was an important cult center.
The more active can take the trail to Mala Osojnica, rent a SUP board or use the Straza Bled toboggan run. Be sure to try the famous Bled cream cake - a local delicacy!
