Sitio Arqueológico Iximche

Sitio Arqueológico Iximche is a fascinating archaeological site that is the former capital of the Mayan kingdom of Kaqchikel. This historical treasure offers an extraordinary journey back in time to the years 1470-1524.

The complex features six plazas, more than 170 structures, including pyramid-temples, palaces and two ball fields. The site is still sacred to the modern Maya Kaqchikel, who perform ceremonies and make offerings to their gods here.

A small museum displays artifacts, maps and historical information to help understand the significance of this unique site.
