Description
Silbury Hill is the largest artificial mound in Europe, rising to a height of 40 meters. This mysterious Neolithic monument, built around 2400 BC, remains a mystery to archaeologists to this day - despite its impressive size, it hides no burials.
The mound took more than 100 years to build, making it a remarkable engineering achievement of its time. It is part of the Avebury World Heritage Site.
When visiting the site, you can combine it with a trip to the nearby Avebury Stone Circle and West Kennet Long Barrow, creating a fascinating journey back in time to prehistoric Britain.
