Description
Seefin Passage Tomb is a fascinating megalithic tomb from the Neolithic Age, located in the scenic Wicklow Mountains.
Built around 3300 BC, it is older than the Great Pyramids of Giza by about 500 years! This stone structure, 24 meters in diameter and 3 meters high, has a narrow passage leading to a central chamber with five niches.
According to Irish mythology, the tomb is associated with the legendary hero Fionn Mac Cumhaille and believed to be a portal to the Underworld. The entrance stones are decorated with rhomboidal patterns and lines, a testament to the advanced artistic skills of our ancestors.
