Description
Schwendi Fountain is a historic 16th century fountain located in the heart of Colmar, France. It commemorates the Schwendi family's victory over the Swiss at the Battle of Marignano in 1515.
It is decorated with a bronze statue of Lazare de Schwendi, a war leader who, according to legend, brought a variety of grapes from Tokaj. The fountain is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, made of sandstone and decorated with intricate carvings.
It is the perfect place for lovers of photography, history and anyone looking for a moment of relaxation in a charming setting.
