Description
Schloss Mirow is a fascinating palace located on Castle Island in the picturesque lake region of Mecklenburg.
Constructed between 1707 and 1712, this historic building impresses with its H-shaped architecture with three stories. After being partially destroyed by a lightning strike in 1742, it has been beautifully restored.
Today the palace houses a museum depicting the history of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. From the tower of the nearby St. John's Church, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire area - it's worth climbing 146 steps to feast your eyes on this unique perspective!
