Description
Santa Maria Nova Complex is a fascinating archaeological complex located in the Appia Antica Archaeological Park. It includes the impressive Villa dei Quintili - once the largest ancient residence in the suburbs of Rome, owned by the senatorial Quintili family and later confiscated by Emperor Commodus.
The complex offers a remarkable journey through time, from ancient mosaics and sculptures to medieval architecture. The historic Santa Maria Nova outbuilding features an exhibition of archaeological finds and multimedia installations that tell the story of this unique site.

Kelly Medford6 years agoThis is a beautiful spot with a wonderfully restored tower in the heart of (and a bit hidden) just off the Appia Antica and adjacent to Villa dei Quintili - I highly recommend a visit while on a stroll or bike ride along The Appia Antica.
