Sandwich and Pegwell Bay

Sandwich and Pegwell Bay is a remarkable nature reserve of international importance, offering breathtaking views of the Kent coast.

The mosaic of diverse habitats - from tidal mudflats to salt marshes to chalk cliffs - attracts thousands of wading birds, including dabblers, sandpipers and gray plovers.

A flat, wheelchair-accessible main path leads through most of the park, and a public bird-watching tower provides excellent viewing opportunities. There is a playground and picnic areas for families.
