Description
Dvorec Drnča, also known as Kamen Castle, is a picturesque medieval ruin from the 12th century, rising on a rocky promontory at the entrance to the Draga Valley.
The oldest Romanesque tower, Gothic residence, and Renaissance buildings create a fascinating mix of architectural styles. The castle was home to the legendary tournament knight Gašper Lambergar, the hero of a Slovenian folk song.
During World War II, the site served as a grim Gestapo prison. Today, the ruins offer not only a history lesson but also a starting point for hiking trails and an archery course with 30 targets in the valley.
