Muzej jaslic Brezje

The Brezje Nativity Museum is an extraordinary collection of nearly 500 Christmas cribs from around the world, hidden in the former stables of a Franciscan monastery.

Ten rooms present scenes from the 18th century to the present day – from Bavarian figurines and Egyptian compositions to traditional Slovenian corner nativity scenes. Particularly noteworthy are the works of Jože Plečnik and Maksim Gaspar, as well as Leopold Layer's theatrical scene from 1828.

The museum combines art, tradition, and spirituality, showing how different cultures celebrate the birth of Christ.
