Description
Pajštún Castle is the picturesque ruins of a medieval fortress located on a limestone rock on the western edge of the Lesser Carpathians at an altitude of 486 meters.
Built in the 13th century as part of the defense system of the Czech-Hungarian border, the castle offers impressive views of the Záhorsk Lowlands, the Pezinok and Devín Carpathians, and on sunny days even the Austrian Alps.
Preserved architectural elements, including a semi-circular cannon bastion from the 16th century and the remains of an underground cistern, allow you to travel back in time and feel the spirit of history. An ideal day trip destination for history buffs and hikers.
