The Grand Market (Piața Mare) is the heart of historic Sibiu, where every stone tells a fascinating story. This medieval square is surrounded by historic buildings, including the 13th-century Council Tower (Turnul Sfatului) and the Baroque Brukenthal Palace, Romania's first museum.

Throughout the year, the square bustles with activity during numerous festivals and concerts. It's an ideal place for history, architecture and photography lovers.

From the Square, you can easily reach other attractions such as the Small Market and the famous Liars' Bridge, a structure shrouded in legends that, according to local lore, collapses under anyone who utters a lie on it.
