Rye Castle Museum - Ypres Tower

Rye Castle Museum - Ypres Tower is a fascinating journey back in time to the 14th century. This historic tower served many functions - from fortification, to private residence, to prison and morgue.

Visitors can admire unique exhibits, including medieval pottery, a rare smuggler's lantern and an original prison cell. A special attraction is the medieval herb garden, where prisoners used to stroll.

Children can try on armor and helmets in the basement and take part in Captain Pugwash's Treasure Hunt. The tower also offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
