Description

Ruševine Salone is a fascinating archaeological site of the former Roman provincial capital of Dalmatia. The extensive ruins include an impressive amphitheater, the city gate Porta Caesarea, numerous churches and thermae.

It's a place full of history, where you can feel the atmosphere of one of the greatest cities of the Roman Empire. Most of the site is still waiting to be explored, which adds to the mystery of the place.

The small Tusculum Museum displays some of the finds, although the most valuable exhibits are at the Archaeological Museum in Split. A walk through the ruins scattered on the hillside is a real trip back in time.
