Description

Roman Forum is an impressive monument of ancient Rome in the heart of Zadar, dating back to the 1st century BC and built on the orders of Emperor Augustus. It is the largest forum in Croatia, measuring 95 meters by 45 meters.

This place was once the center of public life, where political discussions, social gatherings and religious rituals took place. The original fragments of cobblestones, stairs and a single Roman column, which was used as a pillory in the Middle Ages, have been preserved to this day.

The forum area is now bustling with cultural life - concerts and film festivals are held here, combining ancient history with modern entertainment.
