Description

The Rhodes Memorial is a monumental granite monument on the slopes of Devil's Peak, built in the style of an ancient Greek temple. Forty-nine steps—one for each year of Cecil Rhodes' life—flanked by bronze lions lead to a temple with 38 Doric columns.

The terrace offers a breathtaking panorama of Cape Town, Table Bay, and the distant mountains. A controversial place, marked by debate about its colonial past, but fascinating from an architectural and historical point of view. Ideal for lovers of views, photography, and hiking trails among the unique fynbos vegetation.
