Opactwo Cystersów w Lądzie

The Cistercian Abbey at Ląd is a gem of medieval architecture, founded around 1145 by Mieszko III the Old.

This unique complex combines 14th century Gothic cloisters with the Baroque splendor of 17th and 18th century interiors. Particularly stunning is the Oratory of St. James with medieval heraldic frescoes and the 38-meter elliptical dome decorated with paintings by G.W. Neunhertz.

Since 2009, the abbey has had the status of a Monument of History and is part of the Cistercian Trail. It is an ideal place for lovers of history, architecture and spiritual reflection.
