Description
Monaster Snagov is a mysterious temple located on an island in the middle of Lake Snagov in Romania.
Founded in 1408 by Mircea the Elder, it is best known as the alleged burial place of the famous Vlad Țepeș (Dracula). The monastery impresses with its Byzantine architecture with Romanian decorative elements, a balcony supported by 16 pillars and an impressive bell tower of river stone and brick.
Legend has it that beneath the monastery is a mysterious underwater tunnel leading to the mainland. This is a place where history mixes with legend, offering an unforgettable cultural experience in a peaceful, picturesque setting.
