Ławra Peczerska

Pechersk Lavra is the oldest monastic complex in Rus, founded in 1051. This remarkable monument combines the beauty of the golden domes of the Orthodox churches with the mysterious underground labyrinths where the monks lived for centuries.

The Great Bell Tower of the Lavra, 96.5 meters high, is a distinctive feature of Kyiv's skyline. The complex is famous for its unique combination of Byzantine and Baroque styles, as well as its underground chapels and the preserved bodies of ancient monks.
