Kolumna Wniebowzięcia NMP

The Column of the Assumption is one of the most distinctive elements of Zagreb Cathedral, which is an impressive example of Gothic sacred architecture.

Measuring over 77 meters in length, the cathedral can accommodate up to 5,000 people and impresses with its rich decorations. Of particular interest are the numerous gargoyles in the fanciful shapes of dragons, frogs and bats, which act as gutters to drain rainwater.

On the tympanum, located at a height of 39 meters, are statues of the Virgin Mary, Jesus and angels weighing 9,000 kg. It is a great place for lovers of history, architecture and sacred art.
