Description

St. John the New Monastery is a UNESCO-listed gem of Moldova's sacred architecture. Built between 1514 and 1522, it impresses with exterior frescoes depicting biblical scenes, including the Tree of Jesse and the Last Judgment.

The monastery holds the relics of St. John the New, a monk martyred during the Turkish occupation, making it an important pilgrimage site.

The complex also includes a bell tower dating back to 1589, a chapel from the 17th century and the monks' historic cells. It is a unique place where history, spirituality and art create an unforgettable experience.
