Katedra w Palermo

The Palermo Cathedral is an architectural gem, combining Norman, Islamic, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.

Erected in 1185 on the site of an earlier Byzantine basilica, the cathedral has witnessed the turbulent history of Sicily - it even served as a mosque during Arab rule.
